4Ps – The Jury Is Out!

The Jury of the 4Ps PENMAN|POETRY|PROSE|PUBLIC SPACE competition went into session at noon. The results will be announced on July 15th.
The Jury is comprised of:

Magdalena Sroka – Deputy Mayor of Krakow for Culture and City Promotion

Anna Smolak – a curator and Art History graduate from the Jagiellonian University, working for Krakow’s Bunker of Art since 2004. Before that, she ran the Sito Gallery, promoting young artists. She is the co-founder of the Transkultura project (2006-2008) – a series of individual exhibitions dedicated to alienation and rootlessness in multicultural Europe. She co-organised an international conference within the framework of the European Year of Intercultural Dialogue in Poland – TRANSKULTURA: Art and the Fluid Reality of the 21st Century. She has participated in the following programmes: GeoAIR Collaborative Cultural Project / Art Residency in Tbilisi (GeoAIR, Tbilisi, 2011), Post Socialism and Media Transformations: Strategies and Representations, (AICA Armenia, Yerevan, 2008) Galicia. A Historic Land in Europe (International Cultural Centre, Krakow-Lviv). She has received fellowships from the “Step Beyond” programme of the European Culture Foundation and “Polish Culture in the World” of the Adam Mickiewicz Institute. Her professional interests revolve around the concepts of “transgression” and “exclusion” and cover various activities at the crossing of many disciplines.

Izabela Kaluta – Chief Specialist for the Book Institute

Łukasz Skąpski – one of the most interesting contemporary artists. He creates installations, objects, videos and photos. He studied at the Faculty of Painting of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. Since 2001 he has been the founding member of Supergrupa Azorro. He runs a multimedia studio in the Academy of Art in Szczecin.

4P contest is a part of Liberated Miłosz – Czesław Miłosz Year celebration in Kraków, which is operated by Instytut Książki. Projcet subsidised with funds from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
