4Ps – Application period extended
Due to a very positive response to the 4P - PEN|POETRY|PROSE|PUBLIC SPACE competition, we are pleased to announce that the application period has been extended until June 10th 2011. The 1st edition of the 4Ps competition, initiated and organised by the Krakow Festival Office, is aimed at young artists creating urban space projects inspired on literature and locations with literary connotations. The jury will select the 10 best works, and the winners will receive financial prizes: three thousand zlotys for the projects and an award worth one thousand zlotys.
The 4Ps project, inspired by the Year of Miłosz, is carried out as part of the Miłosz Wyzwolony (Miłosz Liberated) series. It is directed at students and graduates of art schools, who deal with visual arts and come up with works inspired by any literary text of public space with literary connotations. The project has been devised as a long-term initiative, offering opportunities to perceive the city through the prism of literary references.
Since the project is inaugurated in the Year of Miłosz, its first edition will be held near the poet’s last house in Krakow, in the quarter mapped out by the following streets: Sarego/Dietla/Sebastiana/Gertrudy.
Competition entries including a description (source of literary inspiration, specification and justification of potential location; max. 1 p. A4, formats: PDF, DOC), project visualisation, specification of technical requirements and the author’s CV; a complete application should be sent by June 10th to: 4p@biurofestiwalowe.pl.
Project coordinator: Anna Smolak, e-mail: 4p@biurofestiwalowe.pl
4P contest is a part of Liberated Miłosz – Czesław Miłosz Year celebration in Kraków, which is operated by Instytut Książki. Projcet subsidised with funds from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
