Master of the background

The latest issue of Sukces magazine features an article, Kultura 2.0 w natarciu (Offensive of the 2.0 Culture), where Anna Gromnicka presents Bogna Świątkowska –journalist, a founder of the Bęc! Zmiana Foundation, as well as an editor of the Notes na 6 tygodni cultural guide. Bogna is most fascinated by the city as a space for art. In Sukces, she asserts that Polish thinking about culture lacks the awareness that culture permeates all aspects of life and that it concerns us all, with no exception.

Let us remind you that this year's edition of the ArtBoom Festival features Bogna Świątkowska as curator of the WUR: Widoki Władzy project, which approaches photography as a vehicle allowing, at least for a while, to adopt a point of view of the few who hold real power in the city. The project will show a series of photographic views through the windows of offices of the most influential people in Krakow.
Bogna Świątkowska – a founder of the Bęc! Zmiana Foundation, with which she has completed a series of interdisciplinary projects at the interstices of art, architecture, design, reflection on the cultural mechanisms, including Free University of Warsaw, New Urban Design, Synchronicity, Finissage of the Stadium X. Bogna is also a former editor-in-chief of the pop-cultural monthly Machina (1998-2001); a former deputy editor-in-chief of Przekrój (2003), author of many texts, interviews, documentaries, radio and TV programmes devoted to contemporary popular culture. A founder and editor-in-chief of a nationwide cultural guide Notes na 6 tygodni, published by the Bęc! Zmiana Foundation since 2003.
