This will be a historical event. Group KOT at Fabryka.

This will be a historical event – wrote Art Bazaar a few days before the concert of Group KOT, which took place on Thursday evening, with a full house in the Krakow club Fabryka.
Group KOT has been regularly performing since 2004, and its distinctive mark is using cassette players in the role of instruments, which sounds constitute a background to the melodeclamation of the vocalist – Wojciech Bąkowski. They visited Krakow for the first time, especially invited by ArtBoom. Until now, the closest performance (of course geographically) was during last year’s OFF Festival in Mysłowice, where they gave a fantastic concert.

KOT constitutes the music face of the so-called New Poznań Expression, represented wider by the members of the artistic group PENERSTWO. Their musical activities are characterised by simple, repetitive compositions referring to the experimental Hip Hop and Cold Wave of the eighties. Group KOT is one of Wojciech Bąkowski’s several music projects (among others, Niwea and Czykita).
The concert, organised within the domain of ArtBoom Tauron Festival, was recorded for the needs of ArtBazaar Records and at the end of the year will be released as the first concert release – both of the group KOT, as well as a new, independent music label created by collectors of art and bloggers from ArtBaazar.

Who was not able to come to the concert in Krakow will be able to listen to it on their own CD, soon available for sale at the Internet store ArtBazzar Records. In the meantime, we recommend the band’s profile at MySpace, where you can get to know their music.
Currently, the group constitutes of visual artists: Wojciech Bąkowski – vocals, Piotr Bosacki – cassette player Sony CSF W 350L and Przemysław Sanecki – cassette player Sony CSF W 350L.
