Kurak heals Krakow

Maciej Kurak, who is known for his distanced and ironic approach to life, has realized a humoristic project called Adin, dwa, tri for the ArtBoom Tauron Festival.

Does the countdown remind you of anything? Not really? Let us give you a clue – the key words are: a TV programme and unconventional medicine. A glass screen with the face of the most famous Russian hypnotist comes to mind. Yes, yes, that’s right, we are talking about the TV star Anatolij Kaszpirowski. For those of you who may not remember the extremely popular in Poland “medicinal” programme on TVP in the 90s, we recommend that you write the surname “Kaszpirowski” in the search engine on YouTube and everything will become clear.
Anatolij Kaszpirowski – a psychiatrist and psychotherapist who achieved widespread fame in 1989 when he carried out hypnotic sessions on Russian public television. The broadcast had a large audience and many viewers said that the sessions had healing power – supposedly they healed a wide range of illnesses and diseases: from cancer to alcoholism and hair loss. From Russia the programmes reached other countries: Kaszpirowski “healed” through a glass screen in the Czech Republic, Poland, Hungary, Germany and even Israel. In our country he won the Wiktor award for the TV personality of the year in 1990 thanks to viewers’ votes.
