LikeKonik frolics on the Main Square
Today, for the first time, just after the official opening of the ArtBoom Tauron Festival, Kobas Laksa’s LikeKonik. The legendary, colourful, Tatar folk hero on his decorative wooden horse has been replaced by a threatening rider dressed in a black leather costume reminiscent of sado-masochistic practices.
Kobas subversively and ironically appealed to the old Cracovian symbol of local patriotism. In accordance with tradition, the touch of the Lajkonik’s mace guarantees good luck – LikeKonik in addition to his phallic mace had a black riding whip, with which he chased after the intrigued tourists and residents. We still don’t know if the touch of the whip brings luck, but Kobas Laksa’s LikeKonik will appear in central Krakow again several times over the coming days, so you can find out for yourself, taking part in the LikeKonik - Cracow Fetish Tour 2010.
